Military Graveside Rites

Jenkins Funeral Home is "The ChoiceVeterans" Funeral Provider. That means that for each Veteran, we help you file the proper documents to obtain the benefits you deserve. Every Honorably discharged Veteran, is eligible for a U.S. Flag to be draped over the casket, or folded and displayed openly during the ceremony or a Memorial Service. Bring us your DD-214 so we may file it for the time of need.

At the time of death, we arrange for one of the local American Legion Posts, or the Marine Corps League for Military chapel or graveside rites. These include, the 21 gun salute, bugler, and folding and presentation of the flag. In some cases the active military assists the American Legion with these honors. For an added elegant touch, we can arrange for a Bagpiper.

Military Graveside Honors

We can arrange for Military Graveside Honors for Honorably discharged Veterans. In most cases we will need the DD-214 discharge papers of the veteran. We can arrange to have the following services: Folding and presentation of the flag, 21 gun salute, pallbearers, bugler. The American Legion Post 48 and Post 16 or the Marine Corps League, Charlotte National Guard or active military from Fort Bragg can provide graveside military honors depending on circumstances. These agencies do a great job and make us very proud to be Americans. Our thanks for what they do for our nation and for our comrades.
