Rick Rector

William Ricky Rector "Rick", 73, of Hickory died Friday, August 28, 2026 at his residence. Born May 16th, 1953 he was the son of William Jerry Rector and Betty Mae Jolley Rector.

His wife of 52 years, Evie Rector; his daughters, Grace Anne Rector of the home, Jenna Reed and partner Wayne Reese of Boone; son, "WJ" Rector and wife, Alyson of Hickory; grandchildren, Faith Buchanan, Caroline Reed, Wyatt and Waylon Rector and best friend, Doug Miller and wife, Debbie survive him.

In addition to his parents, his sister, Leisa Setzer and nephew, Shea Setzer preceded him in death.

The funeral will be 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at Jenkins Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Huffman officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 P.M. in the Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home.
