William Jack Bumgarner Sr.

William Jack Bumgarner Sr, 87, of Hickory passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Carolina Caring. Born, August 14th, 1938, he was the son of the late Bill W. Bumgarner and Beulah Bumgarner.

He is survived by his son, William “Bill” J. Bumgarner Jr. and his wife Donna W. Bumgarner; his sister, Lois Chapman and her husband Carol Chapman; his grandchildren, Jamie Bumgarner Lang, Caleb Jack Bumgarner and his wife Mackenzie Joy Bumgarner, Jordan Kate Bumgarner, and Chasta E. Cole and her husband Aaron L. Cole; his great-grandchildren, Olivia Bumgarner, Luca Campos, Braylon Page, Greyson Cole, Davis Bumgarner, and Dolly-Rae Bumgarner.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Frances M. Bumgarner; his daughter, Linda Sue Loggins; and his five siblings.

The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
