Wanda Kay Helton

Wanda Kay Helton, 83, of Hickory passed away Friday, December 12, 2025 at The Greens at Viewmont. Born, November 25th, 1942 she was the daughter of the late Walter Ray Harris and Vera Mae Harris. Wanda cherished her younger years on the softball field and later found great joy in watching her granddaughter carry on that love of the game. She took immense pride in her beautifully kept yard, where her flowers flourished under her devoted care. Above all else, Wanda treasured her role as “Mawmaw,” embracing each of her grandbabies with boundless love, pride, and devotion.

She is survived by her son William Scott Helton and his wife Danielle of Catawba; her grandchildren: Tyler Helton and his wife Mercedes, Reagan Helton (Justin), and Haven Helton; and her great-grandchildren Graysen Helton and Kynleigh Helton.

In addition to her parents Walter Ray Harris, and Vera Mae Harris, she is preceded in death by her husband; and her siblings Mary Katherine Larson and Carl Ray Harris.

The family will have a Memorial Service at a later date.
