Wanda LeFever Berry

Wanda Marie LeFever Berry entered her heavenly home peacefully on May 4, 2025 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Wanda was born on May 13, 1940 to the late Fred McCoy Lefever, Sr. and Myrtle Faye Stirewalt Lefever.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Fred McCoy Lefever, Jr. of Purlear, NC.

Prior to retiring, Wanda worked in the office at Gaines Motor Lines in Hickory for 30 years. First and foremost, Wanda loved the Lord. Her heart overflowed with love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Wanda will be remembered for her truly selfless nature, always prioritizing the needs and well-being of others above her own. She was defined by her giving nature and unwavering forgiveness. Wanda approached life with an open hand and an open heart, always ready to offer support or understanding. Her ability to forgive, even in difficult circumstances, was a testament to her compassionate spirit.

Those left to cherish her memory are: a son, Bruce Berry and wife Kim of Newton; two daughters, Paula Patrick and husband, James Patrick of Marion, NC, Lisa Boswell and husband Burt of Newton; Four grandchildren, Matthew Childers and wife Samantha of Newton, Brandy Childers of Newton, Auston Patrick and wife Jacquelyn of Marion, NC, Rachel Miller and husband Naaman of Maiden; seven great-grandchildren, Dylan Childers, Katlyn Childers, Maxx Childers, Matthew Childers, Jr., Landon Childers, Brendan Uwaleke, and Vivian Wren Patrick.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am -11:00 am, Saturday, May 10, 2025 in the Celebration Center at Jenkins Funeral Home, 4081 Startown Road, Newton, NC 28658 followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am, in the chapel at Jenkins Funeral Home.
