Thelma Angeline Johnson

Thelma Angeline Johnson, 83, of Graham died Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at her home. Born October 31st, 1942 she was the daughter of the late John and Thelma Hipps. Thelma was a free spirit who loved life. She had a magnetic personality, was loved by all and was always very social. She loved the beach, her family, shopping, friends, and being out in the sun.

Her husband, Gary P Johnson; her children, Kim Canipe (Chris), Ed Metz (Shelia), step-sons Eric Johnson (Karen), Chad Johnson (Kristen); grandchildren, Heather Greene (Sterling), Aaron Canipe (Meredith), Ryleigh Bush (Isaac) and McKinley Johnson, Edward Metz, Joshua Metz and Andrew Metz and three great-grandchildren, Lily Canipe, Ada Greene and Bodie Bush survive her.

In addition to her parents, her late husband, Edward E Metz; her sister, Olivia Hipps; her brothers, John Hipps and Richard Hipps preceded her in death.

The funeral will be 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor David Drysdale officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 P.M. and burial will follow at the church.
