Tamara Elaine Pope

Tamara Elaine Pope, 45, of Conover, passed away Friday, August 21, 2026, at Gordon Hospice House following her battle with cancer.

Born July 8, 1981, she was the daughter of Nora Weaver and husband Benny, Marquita Pope, and the late Phillip Clyde Pope.

Tamara loved her dog, Tate, and had a lifelong love of dance, especially ballet and tap. She spent much of her career caring for others, working as a phlebotomist and CNA at Catawba Valley Medical Center and in home health care. Tamara was loved by many friends and family members and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her mother, Nora Weaver and husband Benny, and Marquita Pope, those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Ashley Pope Geran and husband Justice of Hickory; brothers, Chris Pope and wife Sherri of Hickory and Quentin Weaver of Conover; nephews, Jordan Pope and Logan Pope, both of Hickory; stepbrothers, Logan Miller and Shea Gilbert; and stepsisters, Keisha Elliott and Nikki Weaver.

In addition to her father, Phillip Clyde Pope, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mary Jo Pope, Clyde Pope, Larry Eckard, and Sylvia Roth.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Jenkins Funeral Home with Pastor Debbie Frye and Brad Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Jenkins Funeral Home.
