Shirley Jean Langford

Shirley Jean Langford, 88, of Catawba died Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Trinity Ridge. Born April 17th, 1937 she was the daughter of the late Anderson and Geneva Roberts. Shirley and her husband began ministry at the age of 18 and together planted many churches. She served as the associate pastor at Covenant Christian Church and Lighthouse Ministries in Asheville. She fulfilled many other roles in ministry including evangelism and music.

Her three sons, Robin Langford (Renae), Daniel Langford (Karen) and Paul Langford (Pat); her sister, Sandra Hoyle; her grandchildren, Rachael Langford, Misty Bowman, Jennifer Langford, Hannah Langford, Eric Williams, Brianna Langford, Tyler Langford, Jonathan Langford and Lara Langford; her great-grandchildren, Troy, Evan, Kelsey, Seth, Chase, Emerson, Kamden, Maverick and Hayden survive her.

In addition to her parents, her spouse, Harold Langford; her two sons, Jerry Langford and Fred Langford and her two brothers, Jimmy Roberts and Kie Roberts preceded her in death.

The funeral will be 4:00 P.M. Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Covenant Christian Church with Bishop Donald Bledsoe officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 P.M. at the church.
