Selena C. Maxie, 71, of Iron Station passed away Sunday, December 1, 2024 at her home. Born July 7th, 1953 she was the daughter of Roy Lee Proctor and Mary Ellen Proctor. Selena was saved in 1976 and went to Trinity Baptist Church at the time. She currently served the Lord at Gloryland Baptist Church with her singing and teaching. Her focus was to share the Lord, read and study the Bible daily, and how to be saved. She emphasized to the ladies of the Bible Study to be bold like Paul, stay close and keep the relationship to the Lord fresh and rely on his mercies and strength every day, so you can call the Lord - Abba (which is daddy). Selena was an administrative assistant throughout her career and retired from Catawba Community College in 2016 and worked for Alluvia Enterprises HOA Management until she retired from there in 2023 with many accolades for a job well done.
Selena is survived by her sister, Carolyn S. Kirk and her three children, Lori, Susan, and Eric Kirk; her brother, Roy L. Proctor and wife Betty J. Proctor and their two children Kimberly Proctor and Johnathon Proctor and his wife Patricia Warner Proctor and their four children Brent Proctor, Allia Proctor, Allen Warner and Kathryn Warner.
Selena was preceded in death by husband, Robert W. Maxie; father, Roy Lee Proctor, Sr.; mother, Mary Ellen Proctor; brother-in-law, William Kirk and his daughter, Barbara Kirk.
The funeral will be 1:00 pm, Friday, December 6th, 2024 at Gloryland Baptist Church, 3925 King Wilkinson Rd, Lincolnton, NC 28092. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 1920 Maiden Salem Rd, Maiden, NC 28650.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Veterans Healing Farm VeteransHealingFarm.org or any Wounded Warrior Project in the name of Mrs. Maxie.
