Renae Joy Willis Cline, 74, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2026, at The Greens at Hendersonville. Born September 21, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Baker Willis and Edith Josephine Isenhour Willis.
Renae grew up in the Blackburn community of Catawba County and was a graduate of Western Carolina University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She devoted her career to serving others as a social worker in the healthcare field. Renae had a deep love for music and enjoyed watching Jeopardy!, traveling, and spending time with her family. Her kindness, compassion, and caring spirit touched the lives of many. Propelled by her love of travel and desire to see her precious granddaughter, she made two trips to Japan to see her son and family in Yokohama, where they reside.
She is survived by her son, Andy Cline and his wife, Mayumi, and their daughter, Kaya; her sister, Susie Crowder and her husband, Rick; her brother, Ron Willis and his wife, Celia; her stepbrothers, Don, Ron, and Allen Brooks; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Greg Willis; and her stepmother, Barbara Yoder Willis.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Jenkins Funeral Home Celebration Center. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 pm in Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel.
