Ralph Harlan Pruitt

The family is grieved to announce the passing of Ralph Harlan Pruitt, 84, of Hickory, who passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born on March 12, 1942, he was the son of the late Avery Pruitt and Elvenia Self Pruitt. Ralph enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and NASCAR. Throughout his life, he loved fishing and making trips to the ocean.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Macie Louise Carter Pruitt; his sister, Shirley Oates; his brothers, Troy Pruitt and Avery Pruitt; his grandson, Donnie Barden Jr.; and his great-grandson, Riley Barden.

He is survived by his sister, Edith Willis; his daughter, Donna Barden; his sons, Harlan Pruitt, William "Bill" Pruitt of the Home, Mickey Pruitt, and Ralph C. Pruitt; his eleven grandchildren; and his twelve great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 1p.m.-2p.m., Wednesday June 3, 2026 in Jenkins Funeral Home Celebration Center. The service will be 2p.m. in Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Pastor Tommy Scronce. The burial will follow at Brookford Cemetery of Mountainview.
