Paul Joseph Faro, 61, of Newton passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at his home following a lengthy battle with end stage renal disease and complications of diabetes. Born July 28th, 1964 in South Hampton, NY he was the son of Larry and Rose Faro, both of whom preceded him in death.
Paul spent more than 30 years in the car business in various capacities from manager to buyer to salesman, most recently with Mike Johnson’s Hickory Toyota. In addition to working in the auto industry, he also owned and operated a gym, where he taught Jiu-Jitsu and MMA techniques in the Granite Falls area for many years. An avid athlete, Paul enjoyed playing industrial league softball, semi-pro football, and basketball and also raced BMX bikes during his teens and early twenties.
In the 1980s and 90’s, he worked as a bouncer for numerous night clubs and collected memorabilia from those times. One of his most prized possessions was a beer can signed by all the members of the band Bon Jovi over supper one night. Paul was also a dedicated weightlifter and body builder in his earlier years and remained passionate about fitness throughout his life.
He was an amazing father to his sons Sean and Michael and raised them to be kind, caring and hard working young men. Paul had a quick wit and a sense of humor right up to the end. He loved his family and cherished spending time with them. He loved telling anyone who would listen about his family and all of their accomplishments. To say he was a proud father is definitely an understatement.
He is survived by his wife, Michaele Faro of Newton; two sons, Sean Faro and fiancé Vanessa of Charlotte, NC and Michael and girlfriend Kalea of Lenoir, NC; sister, Laura McTaggart and husband Wayne of Savannah, GA; brother, Joe Miller and wife Linda of Hampton Bays, NY; uncle Rick Speer and wife Suzanne of Owensville, IN and various other relatives in Indiana and New York.
