Patrick McHargue Eidson, 37, of Conover, passed away peacefully at Catawba Valley Medical Center on October 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on October 6, 1988, Patrick was the beloved son of the late Keith Manuel Eidson and Cheri Eidson Dudley. He was a proud graduate of Newton-Conover High School, Class of 2006, where he was known for his infectious laughter, quick wit, and ability to bring people together—always the one who could light up a room.
Patrick married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Jordan Helton Eidson, and together they shared their greatest joy, their son Luke Edward Eidson (11). Patrick was a devoted husband and father whose greatest happiness came from spending time with his family.
He was passionate about good conversation and loved a lively debate. A loyal fan of Duke basketball and the Dallas Cowboys, Patrick never missed a chance to cheer on his teams. His eclectic taste in music, love of the outdoors, and genuine curiosity about the world made him someone who connected deeply with everyone he met.
In addition to his father, Patrick was preceded in death by his Aunt, Tricia Eidson, and his grandparents.
He is survived by his wife, Jordan Helton Eidson, and their son Luke; his mother, Cheri Eidson Dudley and husband Bruce; his sister, Taylor Eidson Matthews (Michael); his mother- and father-in-law, Rick and Stacy Helton; his sisters-in-law, Jessica Spain (Jeff), Suzanne Finlayson (Jay), Krissy Yount (Robert), Jillian Helton; and his brother-in-law, Bryan Sigmon. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Miller and Hazel Matthews, Quincey and Ocean Spain, and Madelyn Birchfield, as well as his cousins, Jessica Criswell (Chastain) and Madison Criswell; Uncle, John Goins (Sheila) and cousins Carrie Grundt (Justin), Johnathan Goins, and Jason Goins (Bree).
Patrick will be remembered for his humor, his kindness, and the way he made every moment brighter. His spirit, laughter, and love will live on in all who were lucky enough to know him.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, 217 2nd Ave NE, Conover, NC 28613. Burial will follow in the Conover City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
