Olen Dale Painter, 83, of Lincolnton, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Atrium Health. Born April 14, 1943, in Lincolnton, he was the son of the late Olen Bradford Painter and the late Hattie Sue Painter.
Olen Dale Painter dedicated his life to faith, family, and hard work. As a minister and preacher, he faithfully shared God’s word and touched countless lives through his wisdom, compassion, and unwavering belief in helping others. His sermons, prayers, and guidance left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He pastored churches, participated in missionary work, and served on the missionary board with BMI in Chattanooga. As a preacher, he touched many people throughout his years of ministry.
Outside of the pulpit, Dale was a devoted father and grandfather who loved his family deeply. He led by example, teaching the values of honesty, perseverance, humility, and faith. Whether offering advice, lending a helping hand, or simply sharing stories and laughter, he made everyone around him feel loved and supported.
He also spent many years working as a heavy equipment operator, where his strong work ethic and dedication earned the respect of his coworkers and community. He took pride in every job he completed and believed in providing for his family through hard work and determination.
While our hearts are saddened by his passing, we find comfort knowing his legacy of faith, love, and strength will continue to live on through his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
Dale is survived by two sons, Ronnie Dale Painter and wife, Rosetta, and Phil Painter; grandchildren, Jordyn Thie and husband, Jacob, Wyatt Painter and wife, Haylee, and Parker Fortenberry and husband, Joshua; and great-grandchildren, Anderson, Lorelai, and Adelaide.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Biggerstaff Painter.
