Michael Steven Poovey

Michael Steven Poovey, 74, of Newton died Thursday, September 18, 2025 at his residence. Born December 13th, 1950 he was the son of the late Charles and Lois Poovey.

His son, Steve Poovey (Stacy); his step-daughters, Tracy Childress (Sandy) and Candy Hamilton and his five grandchildren, Adam, Amy, Kayla, Justin and Jake survive him.

In addition to his parents, his loving wife, Neva Poovey; his brothers, Jimmy Poovey, Wayne Poovey and Danny Poovey and his sisters, Julie Rippy, Frankie Poovey and Jane Smith preceded him in death.

The funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Jenkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M. in the Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home, ad burial will follow in the Jenkins Cemetery.
