Mary Josephine Hilton

Mary Josephine Hilton, 86, of Hickory, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Trinity Ridge. Born on August 25, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Serley Kahill and Maudie Kahill.

Mary found great joy in quilting and creating cherished handmade pieces. She was a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church, where her faith and fellowship were an important part of her life. Mary also treasured the friendships she shared with the Zestful Senior Group and looked forward to spending time with its members. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Leslie H. Eggers and husband, Kenneth, Tracie Hilton, Jennifer H. Whitworth and husband, Kevin; her sister, Dorothy Crowder and husband, Tom; her brother, Larry Kahill; her grandchildren, Cassandra Pierce, Taylor Pierce, Ashley Eggers, Justin Dietz, Kayla Whitworth, and Olivia Whitworth; and her great-grandchildren, Lydia, Colton, Ava, Charleigh, Isaiah, and Shelby.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Dean Hilton; and her grandson, Jason Michael Davis.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Zion Lutheran Church, 1911 Zion Church Road, Hickory, NC 28602. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.
