On the evening of April 22nd, 2026, Marjorie Halsey passed from this world into the arms of the Lord Jesus. Her husband of 68 years, Randolph Clay Halsey, was by her side.
Marjorie was born September 15, 1937 to the late Clyde and Dorothy Cress of Mountain City, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Bud Cress, Allen Cress, Elsie Parsons, and Paulette Morefield.
Marjorie retired in 1998 and enjoyed gardening, reading, taking her grandchildren to the movies and being with her family. Holidays and special occasions were her specialty and she fed us all very well.
Marjorie is survived by her husband, Randy, three daughters, Cynthia Burns, Dianna Caudle, and Debra Halsey Strother. She delighted in her grandchildren, Jason Brenan, Crissy VanHorn, Jeremy Caudle, Rebecca Beer, Heather Caudle, Joseph Caudle, William Burns, Mason Strother, Nathaniel Strother and Noah Strother. Her great-grandchildren sent her over the moon; Gabriel, Livy, Asher, Josie, Orion, Levi, Cadence, and Evelyn. Marjorie left a legacy of love.
Please sign the online guestbook on the Memorial Wall at www.jenkinsfuneralhome.net. The Halsey family has entrusted arrangements to Jenkins Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Newton (828-464-1555).
