Margaret Bowman Warren

Margaret Bowman Warren, age 93, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than 65 years, Joseph Warren.

Born in Hickory, North Carolina, Margaret lived a life marked by warmth, kindness, and a generous spirit. She truly never met a stranger and was known for her welcoming heart and deep love of family. She also served as a foster mother to many, embracing that calling with grace, compassion, and faith. She was a lifelong member of First Advent Christian Church in Hickory, North Carolina.

She is survived by her daughter, Renae Carswell; her brother, David Bowman, and his wife, Lily; her sister, Nita Bowman; her foster son, Wayne White, and his wife, Janice; and her foster daughter, Scarlett Hartzoge, and her husband, Rick.

Margaret is also survived by her granddaughter, Jessica Gary, and her husband Evan; her grandson, Jason Carswell; and her great-granddaughters, Luna Gary and Stella Gary. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

Services will be held Tuesday, January 20, at 2:00 P.M at Jenkins Funeral Home in Newton, North Carolina. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
