Leeann Blakley

Leeann Blakley, 62, of Hickory, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was born on December 9, 1962, in Hickory to the late Homer Mull Jr. and the late Faye Lois Mull.

Leeann loved visiting “junk stores,” enjoying a cold drink, and listening to music. She found peace at the beach, especially with her toes in the sand. She cherished time spent with her grandbabies, enjoyed dancing, and always kept busy cleaning or buying things for others. Leeann was known for her generous spirit and her love of having a good time.

She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Valdettaro and husband Rafael; granddaughter, Chelsey Johnson; siblings, Lisa Carver, Tommy Mull, and Tammy Renae Bagley; son-in-law, Orin Johnson; nieces, Jennifer Carver and Jessica Hua; nephews, Thomas Mull, Steven Mull and Randy Carver Jr; seven grandchildren, Lana Valdettaro, Zoey Middlebrooks, Teyone Middlebrooks, Aria Valdettaro, Nova Valdettaro, Leo Valdettaro, and Enzo Valdettaro; great-niece, Tashayla Rhinehardt and Stephanie Icenhour; great-nephews, George Rhinehardt; her beloved fur babies, dog, Diamond and cats, Peanut and Charlie; and so many more family members and dearest friends. Anyone that knew her became family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Vickie Pace; and siblings, Vickie Sue Parker, John Henry Mull, Amy Poore, and Homer Joe Mull.

A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel, 4081 Startown Road, Newton, NC 28658. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home.
