Joyce Ann Reed

Nov 25, 1952 — Jun 27, 2026

Joyce Mullins Reed, 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith, selfless love, and a life devoted to serving God, her family, and others.

Joyce was born on November 25, 1952. She was a woman of remarkable Christian faith whose relationship with the Lord guided every aspect of her life. She found her greatest joy in her family, and there was nothing she cherished more than spending time with those she loved. Whether she was making memories with her children and grandchildren, caring for family, or simply sharing her beautiful smile, Joyce had a way of making everyone feel welcome and loved.

She enjoyed crafting and scrapbooking, loved riding motorcycles, and embraced life with enthusiasm and gratitude. Throughout her life, Joyce wore many hats—from working as a coal miner for several years, to owning a store, to serving as a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.). No matter where life led her, her heart remained centered on God, her family, and serving others. She was known for quietly caring for those around her, often helping family members, neighborhood children, and anyone in need without seeking recognition.

Joyce’s kindness, compassion, and joyful spirit touched countless lives. Her family will forever remember her unconditional love, gentle heart, and the light she brought into every room with her warm smile.

She is survived by her son Kevin Reed (Tammy) and her grandson, Dwayne Reed; her granddaughters, Alexis Baker and Laci Baker; her brother, Mose (Billie) Mullins; her sister, Shirley Wallen; her lifelong best friend, Peggy Schoneweis and Kevin Hicks whom she treated like a son; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Katherine Coleman, who was like a sister to her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Albert Reed; her son, Thomas Allen Reed; her daughter, Cathy Ann Reed; her father, Mose Mullins; her mother, Nancy Mae Keene Mullins; and her brothers, Burl Mullins, Glen Mullins, and Chester Mullins.

Although her family grieves her absence, they find comfort in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Joyce’s faith has become sight, and while the world has lost a truly remarkable woman, Heaven has welcomed one of God’s faithful servants home.

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant… enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” — Matthew 25:23 (KJV)

At Joyce’s request, no services are planned at this time. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.

The family appreciates the many prayers, expressions of sympathy, and acts of kindness shown during this difficult time.
