Joyce H. Bolick

Joyce Hass Bolick, 83, of Conover, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Carolina Caring. Born on February 11, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Ralph Hass and Vivian Huffman Hass Mays. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Brant Hass.

Joyce graduated from St. Stephens High School and later retired from Snyder Paper Company, where she worked as a purchasing agent.

Joyce lived a life filled with love, creativity, and devotion to her family. She found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, including camping, crafting, knitting, crocheting, working puzzles, taking walks, and tending to her flowers. She also had a passion for baking and delighted in sharing her creations with family and friends. Her warm spirit and caring nature made her a joy to all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her loving husband, Charles L. Bolick; her sister, Brenda Hughes (Ray); nephew. Chris Hughes (Sean) and his children; and many cherished nephews, nieces, and extended family members.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Jenkins Funeral Home, 4081 Startown Road, Newton, NC 28658 followed by a funeral service at 1:30 p.m., officiated by Father Ric Smith. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to caregivers Sandy Austin, Baylie Beal, Michelle Townsend, the staff of Carolina Caring, and nephew Nelson Price for his tireless efforts toward fulfilling Joyce’s desire to stay in her home.

Memorials may be made to Carolina Caring Hospice.

Pallbearers will be Nelson Price, Timothy Bolick, Mark Bolick, Chris Hughes, Alton Price, and Terry Bolick.
