Jose Luis “Chepelin” Garcia Lopez, de 61 años, residente de Hickory, falleció pacíficamente en su hogar el sábado 10 de mayo de 2025. Nació el 20 de marzo de 1964 en México, hijo de los fallecidos Celestino García Hernández y Petra López Ceballos.

Chepelin era un hombre de espíritu amable y generoso. Disfrutaba de la jardinería y de pasar tiempo con su familia. Su calidez, amor por los demás y alegría dejarán una huella profunda en todos los que lo conocieron. De manera conmovedora, Jose partió en el Día de la Madre, un recordatorio tierno de que ahora está reunido con su querida madre.

Le sobreviven su hijo, Jose Luis García López y su esposa Daniela, junto a sus hijos, Jacob y Valerie; y su hija, Yasmin García López; y muchos nietos en México.

Le precedieron en la muerte su hijo, Oscar García López; su hija, Gabriela García López; su hermano, Benito García López; y sus padres.

El servicio fúnebre se llevará a cabo el miércoles 14 de mayo de 2025 a las 4:00 p.m. en Jenkins Funeral Home, 4081 Startown Road, Newton, NC 28658. La familia recibirá a los amigos una hora antes del servicio, de 3:00 p.m. a 4:00 p.m., en el mismo lugar.

Jose Luis “Chepelin” Garcia Lopez, 61, of Hickory, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 10, 2025. He was born on March 20, 1964, in Mexico, to the late Celestino Garcia Hernandez and Petra Lopez Ceballos.

Chepelin had a kind and generous spirit. He loved gardening and spending time with his family. His warmth, love for others, and joyful presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Fittingly, Jose passed away on Mother’s Day—a tender reminder that he is now reunited with his beloved mother.

He is survived by his son, Jose Luis Garcia Lopez and wife Daniela, and their children, Jacob and Valerie; by his daughter, Yasmin Garcia Lopez; and many grandchildren in Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his son, Oscar Garcia Lopez; daughter, Gabriela Garcia Lopez; brother, Benito Garcia Lopez; and his parents.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Jenkins Funeral Home, 4081 Startown Road, Newton, NC 28658. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the same location.
