John Vashti "JV" Randall

John Vashti "JV" Randall, Jr. 89, of Conover passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at McLeod Seacoast Hospital in Little River, S.C. He was born December 27, 1936 in Salisbury, NC to the late John Vashti (Tye) Randall, Sr. and Beulah Chapman Randall. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Robert Jack Randall and Joe Kelly Randall; and sisters, Margaret R. Morris and Coreta R. Loflin.

He was a graduate of Boyden High School, class of 1955. He served two years in the US Army and then graduated from NC State University, class of 1961. Mr. Randall retired from Carolina Mills, Inc. after 22 years. Prior to that, he worked for Dixie Yarns, Inc. in Hope Mills and Cumberland, NC, and Hanes Corporation in Galax, VA. He was a member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, Conover, where he served as a Deacon and a Counselor Elder.

Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Patsy; daughters, Rhonda R. Lail and husband Tim of Conover and Jennifer R. Whisnant and husband, Andy of Greensboro; granddaughters, Lauren L. Whitworth and husband, Colby of Conover, Olivia Grace Whisnant, and Ava Ryan Whisnant; great-grandchildren, Luke Randall Whitworth and Laila McKenzie Whitworth; and a brother, William David Randall of Newland. Also surviving are a nephew, Kelly Randall of Charlotte; and nieces, Lori R. Lewis of Murrells Inlet, SC; Robbin Randall of Myrtle Beach, SC; and Randall Miller of Cary.

Service and visitation: A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, 217 2nd Avenue, Conover, NC. The family will receive friends at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel prior to the service at 2:00 P.M. Inurnment will be held at Trinity UCC Columbarium following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ or a charity of the donor’s choice.
