Javier Ruiz

Javier Ruiz, 53, of Newton, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026. Born September 25, 1972, he was the son of Javier Ruiz Chora and Iraiz Chavez Juarez.

Javier was born and raised in Zimapán, Hidalgo, Mexico. A dedicated and hardworking man, he made his career in the furniture industry and was known for his strong work ethic, generous heart, and devotion to his family. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend who could always be counted on. Javier had a warm smile, a great sense of humor, and never missed an opportunity to share a joke or make those around him laugh. Family gatherings were filled with stories, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

He taught his family the value of hard work, unconditional love, and always finding a reason to smile. Though he taught them so much throughout his life, the one thing he never taught them was how to live without him.

He is survived by his parents, Javier Ruiz Chora and Iraiz Chavez Juarez; his beloved wife of 27 years, Lucila Ruiz; his son, Alberto Ruiz; his daughter, Abigail Ruiz; his brothers, Zeferino Chavez, Pedro Ruiz, and Roberto Ruiz; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Alberto Ramos; his sister, Catalina Ruiz; and his brother, Florencio Ruiz.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Jenkins Funeral Home Celebration Center. A funeral Mass will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Brookford Cemetery, 6316 Mountain Grove Road, Hickory, NC 28602.

The family is deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support shown during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to assist with funeral expenses are sincerely appreciated and may be made directly to the Ruiz family through Jenkins Funeral Home.
