Javier Ruiz

Javier Ruiz, 53, of Newton, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026. Born September 25, 1972, he was the son of Javier Ruiz Chora and Iraiz Chavez Juarez.

Javier was born and raised in Zimapán, Hidalgo, Mexico. A dedicated and hardworking man, he made his career in the furniture industry and was known for his strong work ethic, generous heart, and devotion to his family. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend who could always be counted on. Javier had a warm smile, a great sense of humor, and never missed an opportunity to share a joke or make those around him laugh. Family gatherings were filled with stories, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

He taught his family the value of hard work, unconditional love, and always finding a reason to smile. Though he taught them so much throughout his life, the one thing he never taught them was how to live without him.

He is survived by his parents, Javier Ruiz Chora and Iraiz Chavez Juarez; his beloved wife of 27 years, Lucila Ruiz; his son, Alberto Ruiz; his daughter, Abigail Ruiz; his brothers, Zeferino Chavez, Pedro Ruiz, and Roberto Ruiz; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Alberto Ramos; his sister, Catalina Ruiz; and his brother, Florencio Ruiz.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Jenkins Funeral Home Celebration Center. A funeral Mass will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Brookford Cemetery, 6316 Mountain Grove Road, Hickory, NC 28602.

The family is deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support shown during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to assist with funeral expenses are sincerely appreciated and may be made directly to the Ruiz family through Jenkins Funeral Home.

Javier nació y creció en Zimapán, Hidalgo, México. Fue un hombre dedicado y trabajador que desarrolló su carrera en la industria del mueble. Era conocido por su fuerte ética de trabajo, su gran corazón y su profunda dedicación a su familia. Fue un esposo, padre, hermano, tío y amigo amoroso en quien siempre se podía confiar. Javier siempre tenía una sonrisa sincera, un gran sentido del humor y nunca dejaba pasar la oportunidad de contar un chiste o hacer reír a quienes lo rodeaban. Las reuniones familiares siempre estuvieron llenas de historias, risas y recuerdos entrañables que permanecerán para siempre en el corazón de quienes lo amaron.

Les enseñó a su familia el valor del trabajo duro, del amor incondicional y de encontrar siempre un motivo para sonreír. Aunque les enseñó tantas cosas a lo largo de su vida, hubo una que nunca les enseñó: cómo vivir sin él.

Le sobreviven sus padres, Javier Ruiz Chora e Iraiz Chávez Juárez; su amada esposa de 27 años, Lucila Ruiz; su hijo, Alberto Ruiz; su hija, Abigail Ruiz; sus hermanos, Zeferino Chávez, Pedro Ruiz y Roberto Ruiz; además de numerosos sobrinos, familiares y muchos amigos queridos.

Le precedieron en la muerte su suegro, Alberto Ramos; su hermana, Catalina Ruiz; y su hermano, Florencio Ruiz.

La familia recibirá a familiares y amigos el sábado 18 de julio de 2026, de 12:00 p.m. a 1:00 p.m., en el Jenkins Funeral Home Celebration Center. A la 1:00 p.m. se celebrará la Santa Misa de Funeral en la capilla de Jenkins Funeral Home. Al concluir, el sepelio se llevará a cabo en Brookford Cemetery, ubicado en 6316 Mountain Grove Road, Hickory, NC 28602.
