Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend.

James David Clark, a proud United States Army veteran, devoted family man, and beloved friend, passed away on October 19, 2026. Born on November 7, 1952, he leaves behind a legacy of love, cherished memories, and family bonds that will continue to live on through generations.

James was the son of the late Aldon Richard Clark and Ruth Stamey Clark. He proudly served in the United States Army and later built a successful career, retiring as a plant manager from Leggett & Platt in Statesville, North Carolina. Throughout his life, he held many important roles, but the relationships he shared with his family and friends were among the most meaningful.

To his nieces, nephews, and extended family, James was more than an uncle. He was our Favorite Uncle James. Whenever he sent a text message, he had a familiar way of announcing himself: “This is your favorite Uncle James.” Those words became his signature greeting, bringing smiles to our faces and reminding us of the special place he held in our hearts. It was a simple phrase, but it captured his personality and became a treasured memory that we will carry with us forever. Even in his absence, we can imagine seeing those words on our phones and hearing his familiar greeting in our hearts.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Aldon Richard Clark and Ruth Stamey Clark; his son Adam Clark; his brothers, Richard Clark, Edward Clark, Willis Ted Clark, and Daniel Clark; and his sisters, Edith Yount, Margaret Cruse, and Violet Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 27 years, Neize Clark; his daughter, Bonita Clark; his son James Cook; his sisters, Patricia Phillips, Pam Viverette and her husband Mitch, Martha McCray, and Connie Davis and her husband, Barry; five grandchildren; great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and dear friends.

Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of those who loved him, the memories he created and the love he shared will never be forgotten. His family will continue to honor his life through the stories they tell, the laughter they remember, and the special moments they hold close to their hearts.

Rest peacefully, James. You were deeply loved, and you will be forever missed. Your memory will live on in every heart you touched, and you will always hold a special place in our family.

Until we meet again, you will forever be our Favorite Uncle James
