Hannah Jane Green

Hannah Jane Green, 86, of Lenoir, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2025.

Born September 24, 1939, in Barndardsville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Clyde D. Riddle and Bertie Rice Riddle.

Hannah was a devoted Pentecostal woman who loved reading her Bible daily and listening to gospel music. Her faith was strong and unwavering, she shared her love of Jesus with everyone she met, bringing many to Christ. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Hannah’s husband was a preacher, and together they built their lives on faith and family.

Hannah is survived by her children, Rita Smith and husband Jimmy Smith, Penny Watson, Rex Green, Bobby Green, and Tiffany Barlow and husband Christopher Barlow; her brother, Bill Riddle; her sister, Patsy Riddle; ten grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Freelen Green; two children, Wanda Green and William Green; her parents; and seven brothers and sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Connelly Springs Freewill Baptist Church, 2756 Israel Chapel Rd, Connelly Springs, NC 28612, with Pastor Aaron Causby officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
