Guillermo "Fredy" Flores

Guillermo "Fredy" Flores, 62, of Newton passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026. Born, January 15th, 1964 he was the son of Hernan Rivas and Consuelo Garcia. He was a devoted member of the Hickory Spanish Seventh-day Adventist Church for 35 years. Raised in Honduras, he carried with him a deep appreciation for the outdoors and a strong, hands on spirit. He took pride in cultivating his own crops and had a genuine love for agriculture. Above all, he cherished his family and his beloved fur companions. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Bertilia Martinez; his daughters, Betty Martinez and her husband Michael, Daisy Martinez and her husband Lane, Jacquelyn Martinez and her fiancé Bryan; his grandchildren, Lucas, and Eleni; and his beloved pets.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Consuelo Garcia.

The family will have a service Wednesday afternoon at Hickory Spanish Seventh-day Adventist Church located at 1090 18th St Dr NE, Hickory, NC 28601.

Jenkins Funeral Home staff is not involved in the memorial service at the church.

Fue un devoto miembro de la Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo Día Hispana de Hickory durante 35 años. Criado en Honduras, llevaba consigo un profundo aprecio por la naturaleza y un espíritu fuerte y trabajador. Se enorgullecía de cultivar sus propios cultivos y tenía un amor genuino por la agricultura. Por encima de todo, apreciaba a su familia y a sus queridos compañeros peludos. Le precede en la muerte su madre, Consuelo García.

La familia tendrá un servicio el miércoles por la tarde en la Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo Día Hispana de Hickory, ubicada en 1090 18th St Dr NE, Hickory, NC 28601.
