Gertrude McClanahan

Gertrude Evelyn McClanahan, 92, of Vale died Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at her residence. Born July 22nd, 1933 she was the daughter of the late Russell and Jessie Holbrook.

Her husband, Arvil McClanahan; her brother, Robert Holbrook; her sisters, Mabel Holbrook and Trudy Caudill; her grandsons, Larry Cox (Stacy), Arvil Scott McClanahan and Joshua Hoke Dohl; her granddaughter, Kayla Gray; her daughter-in-law, Kim McClanahan; four great-grandsons, Brandon Cox, Braxton Gray, Brody Dohl and Mason Dohl; three great-granddaughters, Jasmine Cox (Randall), Addie Gray and Maggie Gray and five great-great grandchildren survive her.

In addition to her parents, her daughter, Dianna Lynn Dohl; her son, Jeffrey McClanahan; Her brothers, Telmage Holbrook, Lonnie Holbrook and Woodrow Holbrook; her sisters, Virginia Kinster, Louise Holbrook and Juanita Mullins preceded her in death.

The funeral will be 3:00 P.M. Friday, January 9, 2026 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Vale with Pastor Jeremy Mahaffey officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 P.M. prior to the service, and burial will follow at the church.
