George Austin Propst

George Austin Propst, 72, of Winston-Salem died Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at his residence. Born June 8th, 1953 he was the son of the late George Franklin Propst and Dorothy Lee Hilton Propst. George was a fabulous musician, and enjoyed his time playing in the Symphony Orchestras in Morganton, Greensboro and Danville, Virginia. He also sang in the Triad Men's Chorus. He was a member at the Sardis Lutheran Church in Hickory.

His brother, Jacob Shronce (Brenda); three sisters, Eva Ruth Pendergrast, Della Irene Propst and Cary Propst; his neices, Tammy Shronce McConnell (David), Karen Pendergrast, Mary DeVenney and Martha DeVenney; his great-neices, Makenzie McConnell and Kylie McConnell survive him.

In addition to his parents, his brother-in-law, Dwayne Pendergrast and his great-nephew, Hunter McConnell preceded him in death.

The funeral arrangements will be announced on Monday.
