Floyd Agustus Beal Jr.

Floyd Agustus Beal Jr, age 64. Passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, brilliant intellect, and a vibrant love for life.

Born in Cherryville, NC on January 16th, 1962, Floyd was a man who truly never met a stranger and filled the lives of his family and countless friends with warmth and joy.

Floyd grew up in Cherryville, North Carolina and graduated from Cherryville High School in 1980. A phenomenal athlete, he played baseball for the Cherryville Ironmen, proudly helping his team to the historic World Series victory.

He went to work for Carolina Freight, and his talent on the diamond caught the attention of Major league baseball, leading him to sign with the St. Louis Cardinals and play for their farm team in Florida. Due to an injury, he then channeled his sharp mind on his own home remodeling business. He became widely respected and well known throughout the community for the exceptional quality and craftsmanship of his work.

Everyone that knew him was aware of his passion for motorcycles, a love that began in early childhood. He often shared a humorous story of how his mother worried about his daredevil riding, and that she kept a life insurance policy on him until he turned 18.

Floyd was proceeded in death by his father Floyd Agustus Beal Sr, and his mother Mary Russ Beal. Floyd's memory will be forever cherished by his devoted family.

He is survived by his wife, Aileen Marie Anaya Beal; daughter, Heather Beal Chapman; step-son, Daniel Lee Mossor II, step-daughter, Harmony Joy Mossor; grandchildren, Jordan Ryan Chapman, Jesse Nolan McCormick, Brayden Riley Smith, Adaleigh Grace, Zoey Mae; several nieces and nephews; siblings: his brother, Frank Beal of Harriman, Tennessee, his sisters: Jene Henley of Lincolnton, North Carolina and Cindi Mcleymore of Bessemer City, North Carolina.

Floyd will always be remembered as an amazing, kind hearted, and brilliant man who brought laughter and friendship wherever he went.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Jenkins Funeral Home, 4081 Startown Road, Newton, NC. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service in the Celebration Center.
