Eugene Edwards Rollins

Eugene Edwards Rollins, 76, of Black Mountain, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026, at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center. Born June 24, 1949, he was the son of the late Otis Franklin Rollins and Frances Bernice Rollins.

Gene “Pops” loved fishing and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for the love he had for his children and grandchildren and for the many memories shared with those closest to him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Lucy Fincannon (James) of Newton and Tracy Rollins (Dean) of Black Mountain; son, Otis Rollins (Brenda) of Hickory; grandchildren, Jimmy Fincannon (Amanda), Zachary Fincannon, Abagail Rollins, Timothy Rollins (Meikala), Cierra Rollins, Andrew Morgan, Jaden Rollins, and Ashlyn Brindle; and great-grandchildren, Aurora Fincannon, Billy Guthrie, Leya Rhyne, Jaxon Blantz, Camilla Rollins, and Oakley Rollins; and many extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona Rollins; sister, Brenda Rollins; brother, Bill Rollins; and grandson, Christopher Rollins.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Jenkins Funeral Home with Randy Gregory officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
