David Leonard Anderson

David Leonard Anderson, 85, of Granite Falls, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Born, February 6th, 1941, he was the son of the late Leonard Jacob Anderson and Jessie Lucinda Anderson.

David retired from Sherrill’s Furniture where he cut cloth for many years. He loved the outdoors and his hobbies included hunting, camping, fly fishing, chopping wood, sitting by a fire for hours, square dancing, and traveling.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley Jenkins Anderson; his daughter, Kim Nichols (Keith Nichols); his son, Dwayne Anderson; his daughter-in-law Leigh Anderson; his grandchildren, Kristine Nichols (Stephen Watts); Megan Hart (Teddy Hart); Rachel Anderson, his great grandchildren, Graham Nichols-Watts; Lane Hart; Pressley Hart; Emerson Tucker. Extended family, Michael Borntreager, Ashleigh Hart and Cree Bass.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters Pansy Watson and Mary Edmisten; brothers Fred Anderson and Ray Anderson.

The family will have a private graveside service at a later date.
