Crystal Marie Whipple

Crystal Marie Whipple, 64, of Hickory, passed away Friday, July 10, 2026, at Carolina Caring Catawba Valley Hospice House. Born on September 23, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Roland J. Price and Gail Marie Vanderveer.

Crystal had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved puppies. She found great joy in crocheting and was known for creating beautiful handmade bags and dolls. Generous by nature, she was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and enjoyed supporting local businesses and her community whenever she could. She loved spending time in the mountains, panning for gold, camping, and above all, outdoor activities with her grandbabies. Her kindness, creativity, and compassionate spirit touched the lives of many.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Whipple; her children, Leslie G. Turner, Emily S. Lawrence and her fiancé, Eric Price, and William L. Lawrence III; and her grandchildren, Cheyenne, LeeAnna, Abigail, Taylor, and Allison.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Carolina Caring Hospice of Newton or to the animal charity of your choice.
