Crystal Whetstine
January 2, 1950 — September 5, 2017
Crystal Ann Whetstine of Apex, NC passed away from heart complications September 5, 2017 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton, NC.
She was born January 2, 1950 in Morganton, NC and was predeceased by her parents, Nita Ann and Bennett Whetstine. A graduate of Morganton High School and UNC-Chapel Hill,her 32 year career was spent at Southern Bell/AT&T Raleigh, NC. An avid camera buff, she had traveled widely on photography tours both at home and abroad, visiting five continents. Her favorite was to Kenya on a photo safari where she took her best pictures. Crystal had a great love of nature, especially birds and cats. She was an avid swimmer and enjoyed walking. She is survived by her sister, Nancy W. Prushinski of Hickory,NC, her brother, Barry Whetstine (Cindy) of Medford, Oregon, niece, Anna Prushinski of Charlotte, NC , nephew Gabriel Whetstine (Jessica) of Medford, Oregon, niece, Danielle Moody (Garner) and grand-nephew, Mason Garner of Portland, Oregon.
