Clifton Darrell Walton, Jr. was born on June 8th, 1981 to Clifton Darrell Walton, Sr. and Cynthia Tipps Walton of Hickory, NC.
Affectionately known to everyone as BJ, Clifton grew up on Pea Ridge 7th Road, in Catawba County, surrounded by family and God's nature.
Clifton departed this life on September 5th, 2026, after a short battle with cancer.
BJ brought joy and light to everyone he met, and always had a beautiful smile on his face. He also helped everyone he met, always wanting to lend a hand, show love, or give advice. Even if it wasn't always wanted, he gave it anyway, because he knew it was something you needed, whether you liked it or not.
The family moved to "The Country" when he was a little boy, and all he wanted to know is if it was alright for him to run. All he needed was his dad to say the word, and off he went. He was fast too. Running up and down that dirt road, and through the woods lead to later running for Blackburn Middle School, and Fred T. Foard High School football and track teams. He worked hard at everything he did. The one thing he enjoyed more than running, his dogs, and fishing was being a father. His children and grandchildren were his whole heart.
Clifton is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. Cleveland and Mrs. Jeanette Walton, Mr. Howard Dixon, Sr., and Mr. Richard Estes. Uncles, Mr. Richard E. Hurst, Mr. Emanuel "Mandy" Walton, Mr. Nathan Walton, and aunt Ms. Rita Walton. He has also been reunited in heaven with his set of triplet boys.
He is survived by his grandmother Mrs. Louise T. Dixon, three beautiful daughters Alexis Nicole Walton (Sabrina), Amia Elizabeth Walton (Kayla), and Kynlee Drew Walton (Kalee). Grandchildren, Silas Lincoln and Nova Jade. One brother, Mr. Cleavland Jerrel Walton (Brooke) of Hickory, and two sisters, Ms.Tabitha S. Ramseur and Ms. Keyona P. Walton (D'Karlos) also of Hickory.
Three nieces, Kamille Walton and Jacéra & Jalaina Ramseur. Six nephews, Dalton Bennett, Ethan Biggs, Demarius Walton Cleveland Isaiah Walton Austin Ballard and Jaleel Whitener.
BJ had a huge family, including loving aunts & uncles and many, many close cousins. Because of the type of person he was, he also had a great big circle of friends, which included his life-long brother's and sisters in love.
Although his life's journey here with us has ended, he left us with a beautiful legacy. A legacy of love, strength, a multitude of laughs and great times, but most of all, he left us with the fact that if you love, help and treat everybody right, it will definitely come back to you in droves.
He will never be forgotten.
