Charles “Chuck” Ray Williams

Charles “Chuck” Ray Williams, 77, of Newton, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026, at his home. Born January 29, 1949, he was the son of the late Robert Williams and Mary Wilma Pearson. He was a proud Army veteran. Chuck enjoyed fishing, gardening, and watching Braves baseball. He dedicated over 50 years of service to Hickory White Furniture and was a faithful member of Carpenters Grove Baptist Church.

Chuck was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and was deeply loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Cook Williams of the home; his daughters, Mandy Costner and husband James of Cherryville, and Brandy Napier and husband David of Lincolnton; his beloved granddaughter, Charlcy Costner; his brothers, Steve Williams and wife Debbie of Grovetown, GA, and David Williams of Newton; his step-sister, Sherry Drum and husband Roger of Claremont; his nephews, Dr. Patrick Williams and wife Kristin of Cary, Colin Williams, and Logan Williams; and many step-nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Betty Williams.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Carpenters Grove Baptist Church, 1117 Carpenters Grove Church Road, Lawndale, NC 28090. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m., with inurnment in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Carolina Caring Hospice or Carpenters Grove Baptist Church.
