Chao Her

Chao Her, a loving daughter, mother, and grandmother, passed peacefully in her sleep on September 28, surrounded by her grandchildren. Born on May 5, 1949 in Sayaboury, Laos, Chao is the daughter of Txhiajxeeb Her and Bao Lee. Chao was first married to her late husband Chaiki Lee and had two children. She then became a second mother to twelve children through her second marriage with her late husband Ntxoov Yeeb Xiong.

After spending over 70 years living in Laos and Thailand, Chao moved to live with her children and grandchildren in America in 2024. In her spare time, she was skilled and enjoyed sewing/embroidering traditional Hmong garments. She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, such as: cooking; snacking; spending time with her family; walking; gardening; and watching movies.

She is survived by her children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Sua and Mab; and brother, Ntxoovlis.

Chao will be remembered by her infectious laugh, adorable smile, and her kind heart that impacted everyone she met.
