Carson Mccracken

Carson Lee McCracken, 76 of Hickory died Thursday, October 10th, 2013 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born November 29th, 1936 in Haywood County, NC, he was the son of the late Samuel Lloyd McCracken and Laura Bell Fish McCracken. Carson was a member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family & friends and loved Mall walking and meeting new friends. He was always willing to help anyone he could. He was retired from Top Quality Frame after 15 years. In addition to his wife, Susan Elizabeth Connell McCracken of the home; two daughters, Barbara DeLeon and husband Johnny of Hickory and Karen Hawn of Hickory; a brothers, Sam Lloyd McCracken Jr. and wife Frances of Hickory; three grand-children, Gabriel and Chloe DeLeon and Ashley Presnell; and two great grand-children, Allie & Lucas Presnell survive him. A sister, Betty Jo Webb preceded him in death. The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Mountain Grove Baptist Church in Hickory with Pastor Gordon Benton and Pastor Stephen Loftis officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Johnny DeLeon, Jordan Presnell, Samuel Lloyd McCracken Jr., Grant McCracken, Keith Henson and Trent Jolley. The family will receive friends from 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the church.
