Carolyn Ikerd

d. March 25, 2026

Carolyn Ikerd, age 70 of Newton, NC, passed away unexpectedly on March 25, 2026 with her son Trent by her side. She is now in heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ--Through Christ, and only Christ is Our Savior possible (John 3:16). The family's pastor (Rev. Glenn Roseman) is a longtime friend and has been a great help during this difficult time. He has been a great help providing spiritual guidance over the years.

She is survived by her loving son of the home, Trent Ikerd. Carolyn and Trent had a very special loving bond for each other that lasted all of her life. She is also survived by a sister, Jillane Hoggard of Eudora, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents Glenn Bowman, Ruby Patton, and her brother Jerry Bowman who died at the age of 14. She was a person that never met a stranger--She made numerous friends/acquaintances over the years.

Carolyn was a longtime animal lover all of her life. She especially loved all of her "fur babies" (cats and pets) that died before her. She and Trent also enjoyed watching the numerous Eastern Cotton Tailed Rabbits that would sit out in the yard right out of their window when they ate of an evening. They would give the rabbits grapes as a treat from time to time.

She and Trent enjoyed watching Jeopardy, Sanford and Son, the original Magnum P.I. Series, and loved watching and supporting Nebraska Football and The University of Nebraska together. They also enjoyed watching Dr. Charles Stanley together via In Touch Ministries on T.V. They were blessed they were able to have the love for each other they had for as long as they did.

A celebration of life may be held at a later date.

If you wish to honor her memory, please consider making a donation to The Catawba County Humane Society.

You are forever in my heart Mom!
