Beverly Jean Hamblen LaJuett, 95, of Mooresville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026.
Beverly was born July 25, 1931, in Syracuse, New York, to the late Eric Johnston Hamblen and Irene Isabelle Boon Hamblen. She met her husband Bob when she was 15 years old and they married on February 10, 1949. They shared their life together and raised their family in Watertown, NY. Beverly was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to her family and those she loved. She was an avid animal lover especially her dog Jay-Dee, and her two cats Ray-dar and Desti-nee.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Frederick LaJuett; her parents Eric and Irene Hamblen; her sisters, Irene Hare and Georgie Hall; her brother, Melvin Hamblen; her son-in-law Ed Stevens and her granddaughter, Stacy Stevens.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Joanne Vincent (Tom) and Deborah Stevens; her son, Robert LaJuett Jr. (Char); her sisters, Carol Montressor and Sharon Rockwood; and her brother, William Hamblen.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Robert LaJuett III (Dawn), Shawna LaJuett, Tracy Wilson (Nick), Thomas Vincent Jr. (Lauren), James Stevens Jr. (Cristina), Chelsea Sanders (Jeff), and Ola LaJuett
Thirteen great-grandchildren, Robert LaJuett IV, CJ Stevens, Joey Barnhill Jr. (Kat), Shea LaJuett, Scotty Sanders, Alaric LaJuett, Alexanna LaJuett, Annabella Sanders, Damian Stevens, Elias Stevens, Lucian Stevens, Myles Sanders, Dahlia Vincent and a great-great-grandchild Noah Barnhill.
The family would also like to extend a thank you to all the staff at The Senior Care Place and Abernethy Laurels for their loving and compassionate care of Beverly in her final years.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Jenkins Funeral Home, with Pastor Aaron Causby officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Watertown, New York.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service in the Celebration Center at Jenkins Funeral Home.
