Anita Barker Franklin

Anita Barker Franklin, 53, of Morganton, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025, at her home.

Born September 19, 1972, in Valdese, North Carolina, Anita was known for her love of crafting, traveling, and spending time at the beach and the river. She enjoyed fishing and found joy in being outdoors. Anita deeply loved her children and cherished the holidays, always embracing the holiday spirit and bringing warmth and cheer to those around her. She loved entertaining family and friends, and her subtle sense of humor and joyful personality made her a delight to be around. She was very artistic and loved decorating.

Anita is survived by her three children, Timothy Franklin and wife Lauren of Drexel, Jamie Franklin and wife Brittany of Charlotte, and Little Teddy Franklin of Port St. Lucie, FL; her parents, Georgia and Harry Barker of Connelly Springs; two brothers, Donald Barker and wife Amy of Connelly Springs, and Joey Barker of Valdese; two grandchildren, Charlotte Franklin of Drexel and Henry Franklin of Charlotte; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Connelly Springs Freewill Baptist Church, 2770 Israel Chapel Rd, Connelly Springs, NC 28612, with Pastor Aaron Causby officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Memorial Gardens.
