Allan Cruikshank Hodgdon

Jul 29, 1941 — Sep 1, 2026

Allan Cruikshank Hodgdon, 85, of Hickory passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Born, July 29th, 1941, he was the son of the late Thomas Guy Hodgdon and Bernice Cruikshank Hodgdon. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Tim Hodgdon.

Everyone knew Allan as Tuck. And everyone who knew Tuck appreciated his boisterous spirit, as well as his love for the game of golf and fishing in Canada. But his lifelong pursuit was for a deeper understanding. Tuck was a seeker. Of fortune, yes, but also of spiritual enlightenment and, conversely, of an edge for hard times to come. To those ends, he thrived on sifting through books, newsletters, and online sources in search of insider knowledge and glittery nuggets of potential that others would miss. And despite an unshakeable bearish perspective on the future, he never let it dampen his spirit and he routinely reached out to share his insights.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Hodgdon; his son, Rob Turner (spouse Sylvia Posso, children Andres and Neko); his daughter Alissa Boleky (spouse Thomas Boleky, children Jackson, Remi, and Wyatt); his niece (Amy) and nephews (Jim and Guy) and many cousins in the Pittsburgh area.
