Margaret Sue Gibson

September 27, 1950 ~ June 8, 2019 (age 68)


Margaret Sue Gibson 68 of Newton died Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born Wednesday, September 27th, 1950 she was the daughter of the late John Davis Gibson and Hannah Margaret Gibson.  She loved music, flowers, crossword puzzles and reading and the UNC Tarheels. The joy of her life joy was her grandchildren.

Her daughter, Melissa Gibson, of Conover; a son, George Michael Gibson of Tampa, FL; two sisters, Maxine Ramseur of Newton and Betty Ramseur of Newton; a brother, John Gibson and wife Karen of Newton; six grandchildren, J'la GIbson, Stedman Gibson and fiance, Jessica Arnold, Michael Gibson, Marquia Gibson, Ebony Dillingham, Christopher White; three great grandchildren, Ava Propst, Stedman Gibson and D'aire Miller, special cousins, family and friends, special friends, Betty Hairston, Nancy Williams, Brandy Alonso, Bushra Terborg, BIll and Dorothy Lackey, Javon Watts and Linda McDowell survive her.

The family would like to thank the first and fifth floor staff of Catawba Valley Medical Center for their wonderful care of Margaret during her stay.

In addition to her parents, grandparents, Edgar and Sally Ramseur and Roy and Brandly Gibson, a grandson, Jarjuan Keenan Duncan.

The funeral will be 2:00 pm Saturday June 15, 2019 at Rhoney's Chapel AME Zion Church with Rev. Emanuel Bonaparte. Burial will follow at the church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 pm Saturday at the church.  

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
